Mark didn't choose his future, it chose him! The wrong place at the wrong time led Mark into a life of disorganised crime, but when a late night call out to a local pub ends in the brutal murder of Billy Hannessey, a rival gang boss's son, Mark is forced into hiding.

Rather than run, Mark wants the chance to speak with George, Billy's father, and sort things out. He decides to call on his solicitor, Stacey Bannerman, who reluctantly agrees to give him shelter.

Mark is aware, that as time passes, the net could be closing in but he has no choice but to sit it out and wait for word that George will talk. As George learns of the murder, he wants Mark and his gang found, becoming the target of a vicious revenge campaign.

Whilst laying low in Stacey's flat, Mark recounts how a series of chance and, often comic events, led him from an innocent teenager to the head of a small gang.
